Hi Tom,

I read the article. Whereas I don't disagree with the theory, what isn't clear is what kind of oil was used by the player, and whether he really only used a couple of drops or maybe he reallly slathered it on, and also if it was leaking, he would've had to slather it into the fill station, not the fill nipple as the leak would've sprayed the oil out.
I figure, and who the fock knows, I've filled hpa from scuba for over two and a half years, and must've used oil in the fill nipple well over 100 times, without ever once combusting. 0 times in 100 = 0% occurance.
However, I do prescribe to the slow start fill,which means I crack her open slowly.
I don't know what else to think about that article, really, it's scary, and it kinda makes sense, but there are some definite holes in the story which we don't know, including what the fill psi was...
nonetheless, the warning is noted, and should be considered by all of us hpa fillers.
