: I have known Dan Bonebrake for about 8 years, I have been playing his series since it was the GWS. I can personally attest to the integrity of Dan and he makes very sure that things are "right" at his tournaments. Yep, not everyone remembers the Portland GWS tournament in the summer of 1997. The compressor was having trouble keeping up, and Gunny from Air America offered to help out with the use of a brand new Genesis booster pump. Dan didn't realize (boosters were brand new in paintball then) that the booster would need more of a volume of air - the tanks drained fast, and being a holiday weekend there wasn't enough air to get things going until about 1:00 in the afternoon. Instead of saying "oh, well" Dan held a captain's meeting, told the teams that they would only get partial fills (2,000 psi, if I remember) the paint limit per game would be reduced, the game time would be reduced, all the prizes would still be awarded - and he would refunt entry fees and cover airfare for teams that flew in. Not all teams took him up on the refund or airfare reimbursement, but some did - I've never seen any other promoter go that far to make sure things were right for their customers.
Very true. See you on the field, |
