: This should be pretty easy to simulate. Take the volume of the proposed diffuser and calculate the length of your barrel that would have the same volume. Add that length to the barrel and use the same length as the initial position of the projectile. Voila! Your pressure won't ramp up as quickly but it shouldn't decay as quickly either. Net effect? Dunno...run the sim! Are you saying that if I make the barrel longer by the same amount as the volume of my difuser it would have no negative effect?
