Korea, Vietnaum, Panama, Grenada, Hayti, Former Yugoslavia, Iraq 1, Iraq 2. I'm sure I left some others out. And the Supreme Court has upheld his authority under the law. I would support a consititutional ammendment to change that law. Time limited authority for 'defense' of America after which he would require a congressional vote to declare war. Movement of US troops onto foreign soil without an invitation by that government is strictly prohibited without Congressional approval. This would allow the American PUBLIC to have more input on what is or is not US Foreign Policy. Bush is stretching the argument that his invasion of Iraq is a 'defensive' use of troops for some perceived 'threat'. The rest of the world isn't buying that argument. And half of them would be next on Bush's list if they did. |
