back lit lcd

I have a bushmaster lcd and i want to replace the stock lcd for a back lit type (like the indigo watches) from radioshack or other eletronics store. Does any one know if this is possible. If so what modifications will i need to do. i can do all the wiring, soldering my self but i need to make sure it is possible before i ruin my gun. also has ne one tried this before
