Filling a HPA tank directly from the compressor

I can get my hands on a compressor and would like you experienced guys to tell me if it is safe to fill a tank directly from the compressor instead of filling the big tanks first?
IF it would be possible what kind of filling stations and other eq would I need?
Please... any input would help me a lot!
