Speedball Rocks South Africa

On the 26th and 27th of July, the annual speedball tourney was held at the Cato Manor Technical College, just outside of Durban, South Africa. The tournament attracted 12 teams from around the country, the team from furtherest away were from Port Elizabeth. The tourney was dominated by teams from Johannesburg and Durban.

Games were run over 10 minute periods on a field of about 100m x 70m. Among the major sponsers of the tournament were Paintball City, the exclusive supplier of R.P.Scherer paint in South Africa and Armson Sales. The tounament was marshalled by Team Cane Rats, who are responsible for organising the tourney.

The top 3 positions of the tournament went to: 1st - Warlords, 2nd - Posse, 3rd - Adrenalin. Among the other teams participating were Team Raptors, Team Demons, Power Team, Fifteen Minutes Of Fame, and the Natural Born Kittens.

Great fun was had by all and I sure that everyone is eagerly awaiting for next years tourney. Many thanks go to the Cane Rats for marshalling the games and the organisation of a fantastic tournament.
