1999 Airsmith Training

1998 was a rebirth year for airsmith training.  In the early 1990s, Airgun Designs offered airsmith training at its Illinois facility, and WGP factory tech training was available in their Southern California factory.  The AGD training was discontinued and the west coast location of WGP, combined with little publicity left little available in the way of airsmith training.

That changed in 1998 when PCRI organized their The Certified Paintball Technician's Network training seminar.  They brought together both Worr Games Products and Airgun Designs to provide factory airsmith certification in classes taught by Bud Orr, Tom Kaye and others.  Over 200 airsmiths trained in the first seminar, which has become an annual event.  Later, 1998 saw the formation of the Paintball Training Institute (PTI).  PTI is combining the Xtreme Media Group paintball industry seminars with paintball field owner, airsmith and player training.  See the appropriate web sites for the latest updates on these training and certification programs.
