COLUMBUS, OH - November 14, 2001 - Local promoters, Central Ohio
Paintball, Inc, announces its next Columbus Cup Indoor event to be held
January 12th-13th, 2002. With major sponsorship from PMI and RP Scherer,
this year’s event brings a name and venue change. To be held in the
Voinovich Trade Center at The Ohio Expo Center and called Pursuit Cup Indoor,
the event will grow to over 100 three and five man teams. With
an estimated over 1000 spectators and trade show attendees, this event
is likely to draw well over 2000 paintball enthusiasts to the Columbus

Alongside the event will be the first Paintball Trade Show Ohio has seen. With paintball manufacturers and vendors from various parts of the US coming to Columbus, this is the first opportunity many in Central Ohio will have to witness such a spectacle. In the past an event of this scale has been reserved for larger markets like Chicago, Orlando, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. The event entry fee schedule for each division is as follows: 3 man novice - $395, 5 man novice - $595, and 5 man amateur - $595. Air is included for the two day event. RP Scherer’s new line of Lightning Tournament Paintballs will be sold at $65 per case. PMI is Pursuit Marketing Inc. out of Chicago. They are one of
the largest Paintball wholesalers in the world. RP Scherer is a Cardinal
Health subsidiary out of Clearwater, FL and is the largest softgel
encapsulator in the U.S. Central Ohio Paintball, Inc. is located
in Columbus. With retail stores in Columbus, Cleveland, and Lima,
Ohio, Splatterpark Paintball Games in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and an internet
and mail order facility in Columbus, they are one of the largest paintball
retailers in the U.S.
