PigTV enters 5th Season

Palm Bay, FL

2001 marks the 5th production season for PigTV, the worlds longest running paintball television series.  Launched in 1997, with coverage of the 1997 NPPL and Great Western Series Las Vegas Tournaments, PigTV is webcast worldwide in streaming video format.

"Streaming via the internet gives us the ability to reach viewers world wide, while bypassing the costs associated with traditional broadcasting," said producer Bill Mills.  "The drawback comes with image quality.  Our first season shows, designed to be watched by users with 28Kbps modems had a small, blurry image.  Now, with the widespread use of cable modems and DSL connections combined with newer mode advanced compression technology, we can provide a crisp image with motion smooth enough to see the paintballs in flight."

PigTV uses streaming, as opposed to downloaded distribution technology.  Users to not have to wait to download a huge file to watch a short video clip.  Instead, the shows are watched as they stream into the computer from the internet.

Typical shows include games from a major paintball event, technical interviews and product introductions, as well as fresh music from new bands, and are a half hour in length.  More than 25 shows are available for viewing online at the World And Regional Paintball Information Guide - WARPIG.com
