Team Bad Dream Gives $1,000 from Search for Excellence Award to Big Brothers of America

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Team Effort Events, producers of the Zap International Amateur Open and Trade Show,  recently awarded a check for $1,000 to Team Bad Dream of Kokomo, Indiana.  As the winners of the "Search For Excellence Award" at last years event, the team was able to select their favorite charity for the funds.  The Big Brothers organization, through the United Way of Howard County, received the money to support local activities for children.

The Zap International Amateur Open is scheduled for August 2-6, 2000 and is celebrating it's 10th Anniversary.  The “Search for Excellence Award" recognizes individuals or teams who have overcome a great personal challenge or who have made an outstanding contribution to the community.  The money awarded is donated from Team Effort Events as well as the raffleing of an Angel from WDP.

Organized five years ago, Team Bad Dream has been actively involved in their community, raising money for local charities.   The 14-member team, ranging in age from 14 to 42, makes it a point to present a positive image of paintball and educate the public about the popular sport.  Their motto is: “Victory with Honor, Defeat with Dignity.” Because of this, they have several sponsors including; Blast Factory, Paintball Sports, Ink Up, and AKA.

Continually working towards their goal, Team Bad Dream hosted Kokomo’s first annual Holiday Open Paintball Tournament, raising $1,800 for "We Care", a local charity.  They again raised $1,800 that benefited Indiana’s "Special Olympics."  The community spirited team also was instrumental in opening an indoor paintball field in Kokomo and offered their services as wrecking crew, electricians, painters and framers, converting an old factory building into a paintball arena.
