Division X Tournament Series Event #8

The 8th stop of the Division X Tournament Series was held at Warpaint Outdoor in Salem, OR. Saturday August 30th. The Division X Tournament Series is a first in the Northwest as it features the new X Ball format.

Warpaint Outdoor is a great venue for X Ball, with a grass playing area, Sup Air field and netted spectator area. Plenty of trees provide shade on those sunny northwest days.

The day started off cool for the rookie games, but by the time the open class teams hit the field temperatures were in the mid 90s.

In the closest game of the rookie division Portland Fusion nearly beat Deception which would of clearly been an upset. The game went into sudden death overtime tied up at 4 to 4. But it was Deception that managed to score the tie breaking point. RottenPaintball.com came back with a strong win over Watchmen II after losing their previous two matches. Solid Reign “reigned” in on the Watchmen in a close match with a 5 to 3 win.

The open class division brought several guest players this event. Joey Mendoza from The Cartel played with Planet Factory, while Casey and Corey Fields were brought in by Red Cell. Fracture took to the field against PPS Factory and were on top of their game with a 6 to 3 win. Red Cell came to the game with some heat and laid the smack down to Warpaint Factory with a 10 to 1 win. The play of the day clearly went to Casey Fields when with 13 seconds left on the clock managed to run up the field grab the flag and bunker the two opposing players that were left after Corey sent one to the dead box off the break, and, hang the flag. The last game of the day put Planet Factory against PPS Factory, who had already played once today. Planet dominated the game scoring 4 points in the first half, and only allowing 1 point scored against them in the second half, winning their match 8 to 1.
