Paintball Sports Promotions The 2004 Mardi Gras Open will again be held at the home of the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets, the Segnette Sports Complex/ John A Alario Center just outside of New Orleans, LA. The Mardi Gras Open is one of the premier events in all of paintball. It not only offers the best of competition paintball, but the chance to join in on one of the biggest parties in the world. This year’s event will play host to 5 Man teams from across the country and abroad, as well as the NXL franchise teams. There will also be a 1 on 1 competition to determine this year’s best individual player. The entry fee for the 1 on 1 competition will be $65. The 5 Man event will be broken down into 4 classifications: Rookie - $400 entry fee/ Total Prize Package worth $10,000+ Novice - $600 entry fee/ Total Prize Package worth $20,000+ Amateur - $800 entry fee/ Total Prize Package worth $30,000+ Professional - $1500 entry fee/ Cash Prize package equal to the entry fees received. The tournament begins on Thursday, Feb 12th with the one 1-on-1 competition. The 5 Man preliminaries begin Friday the 13th and will continue Saturday. The 5 Man semi-finals and finals will be played on Sunday. Each team is guaranteed 8 preliminary games. The time limit will be 5 minutes per game. Rules for the event will be standard PSP rules, which are being updated for 2004. A complete set of rules will be available at the PSP website when they are completed. A complete copy of the rules will be available for teams during “sign in” at the event. Each classification will have the top

Mardi Gras will be a Tourney Only Paint event. Diablo Inferno will be available at the event for $70 per case. Hotel Information can be found at www.pspevents.com. Additional information on the venue can be found at www.alariocenter.com. Registration will begin Monday January 12th, and will close February 6th, or when we reach the capacity of teams (160 teams). Each player must have an APPA ID# to enter the event. Registration for both individuals who need ID#’s, as well as teams who are entering the event, takes place through www.pspevents.com by clicking on registration.
