Road to Aruba
Bentonville, AR - July 17, 2000

Fourteen teams from across the world will gather in Aruba on Friday, July 28, to compete in the 2000 Brass Eagle International "Road to Aruba" Paintball Series Championship.

Over the past five months, hundreds of teams from the United States, Europe and South America have played in amateur and novice only 'feeder tournaments' for a chance to compete in this first of its kind three-man international event.

The finalists consist of 10 regional tournament winners and four contingency teams.  They are:

The regional and contingency team winners will be flown to Aruba from Miami on Air Aruba Airlines and given three night's accomodations at the Holiday Inn Aruba Resort and Casino on Eagle Beach, where the paintball finals will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2000.

There will be over 100 games played throughout the day culminating in a playoff Saturday evening with one team taking home the coveted world championship trophy.  All of the teams will be given a host of Brass Eagle and Viewloader paintball products for use during and after the tournament.  An island tour and other festivities are planned around the tournament in conjunction with the Aruba Ministry of Tourism.

More than 75 people from the paintball industry, including nine paintball newspaper and magazine writers and editors, four professional players serving as tournament referees, Nikki, Brass Eagle's advertising spokesperson, and Ken Farris, owner of Drop Zone paintball field in Olathe, Missouri, will be attending the event.  All equipment and paintballs needed for the finals will be provided by Brass Eagle, Inc.

Co-sponsors of the International "Road to Aruba" Paintball Championship include the Island of Aruba, the Holiday Inn Aruba Casino and Resort, Hooters of Aruba and Benihana's of Aruba.
