August 30, 2002 Warped Sportz, Inc is going global. The only nationally franchised paintball -action sports retail chain has crossed the Atlantic, and will be opening Warped Sportz Deutschland on October 1, 2002, in Braunschweig, Germany. “We want to conquer the world,” said Warped Sportz Marketing & Promotions Director Dan Napoli. “No, just kidding. Seriously though, we’ve just seen incredible demand for our product and our style grow in Europe over the last eighteen months. It’s due in large part to Avalanche’s success and commitment to participating in Millennium Series Events, as well as the overall growth of the European paintball market.” Warped Sportz Deutschland will be both a retail outlet, and a source for other European paintball stores to purchase Warped Sportz, Dark Series, and Immortal skateboard product. Warped’s first international franchise will be maintained by a company headed-up by Michael Harms, who formerly ran the highly successful German paintball store Der Abenteuerladen Paintball. “Michael and his company have been one of our strongest European costumers,” said Mike Bennett, Warped Sportz Head of Sales. “We know Michael’s really into our products and our style, and that’s really important to us.” Harms is thrilled about the opportunity to work with Warped Sportz. “This is the best news we have had in all of 2002!” Starting October 1, players from abroad can visit Warped Sportz Deutschland on the web at www.warpedsportz.de, or via phone at 0800-GET-WARPED. Inquiries can be emailed to info@warpedsportz.de Address and store hours will be available via the website by late September.
