NPPL to Restructure

Wednesday May 18, 2001

There have been many discussions over the last few months among
individuals of the NPPL governing body concerning the future of the league. A
majority decision has been reached concerning the function of the league as a
league of the players and for the players. The conclusion of the majority is
that in order to adhere to the original plan of the league, the voice of the teams supporting the league has to be put in the forefront of the decision making process.

The future of the league relies on the teams and players that consistently
support it by attending the events. A majority decision of the present committee is that the league needs to restructure itself in a manner that better allows the voices of these supporting teams to be heard and acted upon.

Experience has taught us that one vote for every team creates an unworkable
situation. A logical solution seems to be the formation of a 10-person committee comprised of equal representation for the amateur and the pro
players and teams. This committee can then take on the task of putting a
workable structure of people into place. With equal representation from the amateur and pro teams, the committee will be better able to make decisions
that are fair for the teams, the players, the sponsors, and the promoters.

A meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 3rd in the All Star Events Complex
conference room. The meeting will begin immediately following the captains'
meeting. This meeting will be to select 5 amateur representatives by a vote
of the amateur teams and 5 pro representatives by the pro teams to guide the
league forward.

All teams who have competed or judged in 4 of the last 6 NPPL 10 man
events (LA2001, World Cup 2000, Nashville 2000, Chicago 2000, Pittsburgh 2000, and LA 2000) are eligible to have 1 representative attend this meeting.
All representatives will have equal opportunity to discuss and participate in
all aspects of the meeting.

There are good people with sincere intentions within this league. If we make
a genuine effort to put these people into a position to guide this league we will all (players, manufactures, and promoters) benefit.

If you meet the eligibility requirements and are interested in attending this meeting, or if you are interested in being considered for a role on the elected council, please contact me.
