NCPA to Host the Xbox 360 ™ College and High School Paintball National Championships presented by JT USA at Dallas’ Xdrenalin™ Zone Paintball

March 16, 2006 -- This April, the National Collegiate Paintball Association and hundreds of student athletes will be headed to Dallas, Texas to participate in the 7th annual Xbox 360™ College and High School Paintball National Championships presented by JT USA.

On April 7th, 2006, students and coaches from across the nation will descend on the Xdrenalin™ Zone Paintball Park in Grapevine, Texas, and compete for Xdrenalin™ Cup, awarded to the National Champion in each division. Xbox 360™ and CSTV Networks, operator of the 24-hour college sports network from CBS, have partnered with the NCPA for the second year to again bring the finest in paintball event coverage to television.

The NCPA Class A Finals will be broadcast along with other college sports like snowboarding, wakeboarding, boxing, triathlon, kayaking and beach volleyball as part of the first-ever CSTV Collegiate Nationals™ event in late April, and several times over the summer in programs dedicated to the Paintball National Championships.

As the League has grown by leaps and bounds over the past five years, there has been a constant need to find not only large, high profile venues for events, but venues that are accessible to teams separated by thousands of miles. “We selected Xdrenalin Zone from facilities across the nation due to its excellent location and superb facilities for a national-level tournament,” said Chris Raehl, President of NCPA. Xdrenalin Zone is located in the Dallas Metro area on the shores of Lake Grapevine and a mere five-minute drive from the Dallas/Ft. Worth International airport.

“We are thrilled to invite top high school and collegiate players from around the country to compete for the Xdrenalin™ Cup,” said Mark Davis, President and CEO of Xdrenalin™ Zone. “We look forward to proving Texas hospitality in Grapevine, Texas in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.” he added.

Preliminary play for Class A (long format 5-man) will commence on Friday, April 7th while Class AA (short format 5-man) College and High School play will start on Saturday. Finals for all divisions will be held throughout Sunday, April 9th. Entry fees start at $300/team with paint available from $45/case and up from multiple vendors.
