X Ball is a damned nice format, BUT...

At least for the near future, the money will remain in scenario/big games. I think there are some TV deals around the corner, but I highly doubt anyone is going to be getting rich on them - the first ones will hopefully cover event production costs and that'll probably be it. That's definitely good progress - but certainly not going to come anywhere near bringing about the end of "rec ball" as you put it.

Non-x-ball events are generally just easier to do, and people will always want an easy way to play. It's that way with all sports - plenty of people play volleyball without a regulation court or football with rules that arn't even close to NFL/college football rules. (How many people have 100 yard fields with goal posts in their back yards, ya' know?)
