Howdy, I JUST got over this problem myself. With me, it started when I upgraded to a roller-sear from Shocktech. My stock 'cocker ('01 model) sear spring didn't have enough pressure to keep the sear from skipping. The hammer just bowled right over it all the damn time. My symptoms were this... I could manually cock it. If I pulled the trigger and grabbed the back block and let it down manually, it would cock. If I simply cycled the trigger, the bolt/block carriage would move but the hammer would just go along for the ride and only kiss the sear, resulting in a bit of a fart when it tapped the valve. If I manually pulled the hammer rod back all the way and let it go, it would simply bounce past and fart. Here's what I found that worked.. After trying every-dam-thing. Totally messing up my timing in order to flush out any timing issues. Adjusting my three way and sear lug the entire length of their adjustment. After moving the back block fore and aft a bunch. After adjusting the hammer rod down tight and then back. After all this....it checked out. I even broke out my dial calipers and took measurements of the travel of my parts with and without the back block! Just to be sure the ram was moving all the way. All this, and it boils down to my stupid #)^(#$_^@_@ sear spring!!!! I tried the maddman springs in my kit. But they are softer than stock. I tried stretching the stock one out, but it soon got softer. My solution? Was to dig throgh the parts box of the wife's Shutter. Low and behold, I found her stock valve spring. I cramed that baby up in there and presto! Now it recocks EVERY time, unless I flub up on the trigger! Then it STILL farts a bit!!! The trade off is that, even with the roller sear, my trigger pull must now be rated in pounds! It almost outweighs having the roller sear in the first place. Hope this helps some. I know how frustrating it is. I just sank a bunch of money to finish upgrading my cocker and then I get this problem. Good luck!!
