The O rings have developed flats on them from sitting.
When you take them apart just be careful to place each part face down in order left to right as it comes out so you can reassemble it in the same order with the same side going in.
Your goal is to replace the piston O rings OR just let them sit out and 'round up'.
Rebuild Kits are less than $15 but mine didn't come with any instructions.
