Don't be concerned about breaking your inserts, there's nothing fragile about them, don't play catch with them, step on them, or throw them at anything hard and you won't have a problem. I pull out the insert, running hot water through everything helps alot, wash them out good and run a pull through squeege through em, just like cleaning a regular barrel. Put a drop of oil on your finger and rub it on the orings on the back end, assemble and your ready to rock. Hope it helps. Razor
