97 to 2002. I bet it is gummed up internally. I'd clean it and replace the piston O ring if you can get it apart. If you can't get it apart to clean then use this procedure with the ram on or off the marker. Clean by running some spare hose off each barb down into a container with some denatured alcohol in it. Just pump the ram shaft back and forth and pump the alcohol back and forth into the ram. It should start pumping out all sorts of black gummy and dirty looking stuff. Keep doing it until it stops pumping black junk out. You can filter the junk out by using a coffee filter and just pour it into another simular container. Then suck a drop of 3 in 1 oil inside each barb and pump it some more to relube it. I clean my ram, regs, 3 way valve annually. I use clear hoses that give you a good visual cue when you are due for a cleaning. |
