The first thing to do is lower your in-line reg output to it's lowest PSI. This is commonly called sweetspotting. I just saw on Vampyrs site he has excellent instructions on how to do this. Go there, register for gods sake... I don't think you necessarily need to change your valving for a higherflow valve, but if you don't get your gun shooting down to around 280-320 psi, you'll still be making some noise. Less noise than the stock setting of 400+psi, but not the quiet demon you crave. Can the stock valve handle 280psi and get up to field legal speed? Depends on the year, methinks, the older models pre2001, I don't think can handle that low consistently. Barrel's have a lot to do with it. A well ported barrel is quieter than a less ported one. The Progressive has about 4 inches of porting, the AA on the other hand has 6. The sound signature is much quieter on the 6" of porting. Your front Reg is set high on the stock front reg. Lower it as low as you can using the usual formula of add a 1/4 up for slop. This will reduce the back block slap, as well as the ram jam.
