I just installed a Bomb on my backup cocker and while it is hard to get the stock hats on there, it is possible. Just pinch the sides a bit to compress 'em, then push 'em on. They fit REALLY tight next to each other, but with a pair of needle nose pliers and less than 10 minutes of work you should be able to get them on. And yes, you do need them. The hoses don't fit real tight on the bomb as it is, they need the hats.
