Hammer weight has many different affects depending on weight and design. An overly heavy hammer could cause velocity problems, the hammer would become harder to move. A lighter weight would help reduce cocking pressure a little, and remove a little kick. I can't say what would happen if you got it too light. Personally, I haven't seen a massive upgrade from different weight of hammers in an autococker, however, impulses are a different story.
