98 sniper is 400 bucks who would pay that for a tippmann 98?

buy a 98 custom, and buy the flatline if you want or if you have 400 bucks to spend like that buy a much better gun.

you will definitely save money if you buy the two separate, especially if you buy the used flatline barrel and the used 98. If there is any problems with the used guns TIppmann customer service is excellent and they will let you send the gun in for them to fix any problems that would arise. That is not likely to happen though because tippmanns are tough guns.
