Did he get it new or used? Does the bolt stop moving after making the noise? Has he taken the gun apart? It sounds to me ,if it isnt recocking, like it is the saer(spelling). Also it might be something with the air flow. Try holding the bolt all the way forward for a few seconds and see if the air flows freely.
