does it do it only with the gun un-cocked or does it also do it with your gun cocked. sometimes if your gun isnt cocked when you air up your gun your hammer is resting against the valve stem and causes a small leak that clears up when you cock the hammer back.

if it leaks even when your gun is cocked it is probably the cup seal. not to easy to get to in a 98
