: : Have a MaxFlow 68/4500 that I got used. It has the high pressure reg and spring in it. When I turn it "on", it immediately vents through the air relief. If I back down the spring cap until it vents out that way, the air relief stops venting.

: : I've taken the reg apart twice and inspected all parts and put back together (including lubing appropriate o-rings) per the manual with no results.

: : Any ideas??

: : Thanks,
: : Dan

: If the pressure in the tank is less than the set output pressure this will occur. I had a similar problem myself and I though that my reg was broken. When i called smart parts they explained it to me.

Pressure in the tank is about 2000 psi currently as some of the air has vented. Doesn't make any sense. :(
