When you fill a paintball CO2 tank from a bulk CO2 tank, the paintball tank has to be chilled to lower the pressure inside the tank *below* that of the bulk CO2 tank. If not, the paintball CO2 tank will be filled only with CO2 gas, not liquid CO2. I would expect (not having seen or used one), that the CO2 pump actually draws the liquid CO2 up through the dip tube, irregardless of the pressure of the paintball CO2 tank you are filling. I'd expect that you still need to know what the total weight of the tank + CO2 is, though, unless they are advising a guideline based on ambient temperature + output pressure from the paintball CO2 tank. The latter sounds a little scary to me. =RT=
CO2 isn't something to play around with--far more dangerous than HPA, due to CO2's volatility from temperature fluctuations.
