A 'doable' tracked tank starting point

I see alot of discussion here about making tracked tanks. I pretty much feel that doing so is impractical, at least from the standpoint of building your own. Just too expensive and not likely to be reliable. I did stumble onto one idea that might be 'doable.' Still a bit on the spendy side but a whole lot cheaper than some of the other schemes I have heard. Start with a snow-cat. Plenty of width, body would be easily reconfigurable. And you can find used examples cheap enough. Here's an ad I cut that would be a gem of a starting point for someone if they got serious about it.

’73± Thiokol Packmaster 2100C. V8/auto. Blade. Need some work but all there. Also: complete parts unit with blown diesel motor. New York. Everything for $3,000.

Not bad considering that you actually get two here, just need a motor for the second.

If I was made out of money like I know the rest of you are I would consider this a viable option

Regards
