In fact, you need about 2 lbs of sodium bicarbonate (highly purified baking soda) to generate 1 lb CO2. The weight of acetic acid required would be dependent upon the percentage of water in the acetic acid. This does say that the weight of the acid would weigh more than the sodium bicarbonate. Calcuim carbonate is the same. I guess I figured it would not take pounds of CO2. How much CO2 do you go through? |
