The oriface shapes and flow paths seem to vary greatly too. Different valve types can still be handled via switches. The good news, though is that manual vs. solenoid really doesn't make that much of a difference from a theory perspective. In fact, it makes none. Yeah, you've got different pilot dump rates, but that's easy to handle. As for the different flow paths, that one is being handled via an efficiency number. It's still something most people will have to set by trial and error but the good news is that it should be pretty constant for a certain valve type (less sensitive to exact system installation parameters) so if it's learned for a valve it ought to be pretty accurate for ALL valves of a similar size/design. Too, it's the kind of thing that may very well be in the tech data for the valve if you can find such. |
