The base had been rather quiet over the past few weeks but the commander knew that was just a prelude for worse things to come.He sent out many patrols with minimal activity, but inside he knew that the were holding back for some reason............Then THEY arrived. The recon guys kept to themselves and didn't say much other than a nod. The Recon teams were preapring for a patrol when word came that there was heavy movement along the highway below the base. The recon teams along with a couple platoons of grunts set up in ambush and lay in waiting for the unsuspecting VC and NVa to cross their kills zones. After a short time as so it seemed several VC were seen crossing the road towards the base...the recon team braced itself for a fierce battle, once the main element was in the kill zone the team leader blew the claymores signalling the team to open fire. The team had ran straight into the front column of what was to be a much larger force, the larger force never ran to help to trapped VC...why??was their plan something bigger? After the successful ambush over 56 dead VC lay in the road and bushes surrounding the area.Several documents confiscated from the bodies showed a big major assault on Khe sanh was the works, once the Commander learned of this, he asked higher up for more troops and supplies, would they make there in time..........???????
Come and join us as we defend Khe Sanh from the elusive and cunning VC and NVA at Old River Paintball on sept 11th and 12th 2004.....and relieve the adventure........email if interested in playing for the Americans.....
