: Why do the Americans have to have a different plan? I went to the commanders meeting for 2003. All chiefs and no indians. Each commander had their own ideas and strategy for their unit and just STARTED discussing them the night before the game. An obvious lack of advance planning. That is what I think is changing. Advanced planning well before the game. And some other stuff is in the works... All classified of course... There WILL be a better command structure in place for one thing. Not necessarily a new plan. You can't WALK across the English Channel to Normandy. It is basically attack the defended base right? There ARE a lot of frustrated Allied Veterans. About 1000 we have talked to so far that are willing to give it one more year. Including a bunch of Tankers he pissed off last year. If the producer does not address safety issues, HOT Guns, AIR fills for the allies, and rule enforcement, and quit manipulating the game and let the GENERALs run it instead of the Producer, he will lose that business this year. We've had it. It could be great paintball experience but he is killing it. Why should we put up with Hot Guns, Outrageous behavior, fist fights, cops being call to arrest people, etc. NO OTHER LARGE GAME has those kind of problems. He promises stuff and does nothing. It is getting harder and harder to just have fun playing paintbal there. A competing game will be held in the same area and those 1000 players will be going to that one instead in 2005. Lots of field owners with D Day envy that would kiss our behinds to deliver 1000 pre registered player to HIS Game... Many are convinced there will be no changes by the management as long as he can get 3000 players to come every year or someone gets seriously hurt and gets a nice 7 figure judgement that maxes out his insurance and cuts into his assets. Until the players catch on and D Day gets some competition that actually HURTs his pocket book, then they might be right. It seems that he would buy 50 hand held chronos and run a safe game, rather than loose 1000 players to his competition. Interestingly, at 2003 during the assembly, we asked for a show of Allied hands that had been to D Day before. A trickle of hands in the ranks. So I guess he is NOT counting on repeat business from out of town. Just new players comming in from the growth in popularity of scenerio games. They came, saw the really strange stuff that goes on, went home with a bad taste in their mouth and didn't come back. Only the German local crowd has the large pool of multi year D Day veterans. |
