: How many of you buy paintball gear because it is worn/used by someone "known/famous?"

To be honest, I pay next to no attention to that at all. In general I don't anyways, but particularly when it comes to paintball products due to the heavy dependance on sponsorships. I know Mike Vick and Clinton Portis can continue to afford to play Football regardless of if they wear Under Armour products or not. Can Dynasty continue to consistently win tournaments without free guns and paint?

Now what I WILL pay attention is the equipment of players at local fields who are better than me. I won't buy an Angel because so many of the players up here are buying them. I'll admit I would have never thought to get a head wrap to keep paint out of my hair if I hadn't noticed almost all of the expierenced local players doing it here.

: Also, how many buy regular clothes and such because of the same reason?

: I don't, but I'm old ;)

I'm a 32 year old geezer myself. If you're looking for where is the most signficant social influence on me for what I buy, I'd say it's split between friends and what I see walking the malls, streets, work, resteraunts, and driving. I'd be in sad shape if my buying decisions were based on famous people since half the time I don't know who they are.
