I don't, I buy it because it works or I like it... even better if it's both ;-)
I may be more likely to take an initial or longer look at it if it's gear being used by a successful player/team, figuring they might have chosen it because it works or it's quality.

: How many of you buy paintball gear because it is worn/used by someone "known/famous?"
: Also, how many buy regular clothes and such because of the same reason?
