It's not the first city paintball park. Huntington, WV opened one 3 years ago, I don't know if there were others before that.

Regardless of that, community park fields are still few and far between (the only others I know of offhand are in WV and WA.)

Hurricane Paintball is looking good. The firebases are outstanding. Julio with Parks and Rec has done a great job of guiding it, and the Rogue Warriors and others from the area have done a lot of work to build it. The local Chevy dealer donated a huge semi-permanent tent/awning that's a good 100 feet long, complete with flourescent light grid that should be on site soon.

Even better news, is that one of the city council members and the city manager played during a pre-grand-opening last Sunday and both were enthusiastic about it - the city manager mentioned speeding up some things in the process to get paved parking and lights on site like most of the other city parks.

Sunday the 29th is the official grand opening - free admission, air fills, rentals and paint can be purchased on site from General Chester's.

See you on the field,
-Bill Mills
