: for a father and son to attend a 24 hr game within a 3 hr driving distance each shoot a case and a 1/2 of paint i estimate this is about a expense of 450.00 for the weekend : (assuming camping) Let's see, just for grins and giggles, let's say two hours driving time each way (240 miles) at 20 MPG, and that's 12 gallons at $1.50 per, so that's $18 for gas. Call it $20, just to round things off. Three cases of paint at $80; that's $240, so now, we are up to $260. Add the entry fee, and that's another $100, and we're up to $360. Hotel rooms and camping facilities vary in cost, but for the sake of argument, let's assume a hotel room at $50 a night for two nights, and now, we're up to $460. But wait, there's more! How about some food? Two dinners on two nights, at around $25 per pair, and we've cracked $500, and gotten to $510. And two breakfasts for two, at $15 each, is another $30. Damn, we're up to $540. Have I forgotten anything? How about a pair of event T-shirts at $15 each. Now we're at $570, and racing for $600. And that other $30 will be eaten up by lunches, snacks, and miscellaneous other items. : for the average family to spend this out of thier budget how often can this happen? -- i would be interested in comments on this so i can see real world answers-- And you are dead on! : : dave the coalition Works for me!
